2. An attempted scam of an elderly person started in New Mexico and ended in Valley Stream. An 84-year-old woman in New Mexico was called by a man who said he worked for Best Buy's Geek Squad, and she was told to send $14,900 to an address on Mulberry Place in Valley Stream where Monira Chowdhurry, 50, of Queens, was arrested in front of the home. 3. Tsipporah Lowenstein, 3, and her aunt, uncle, and nine cousins endured a 50-hour trip from the Ukraine to New York City last week with just one clothes-filled suitcase. Students and staff members at the Hewlett- East Rockaway Jewish Centre donated Amazon gift cards to "adopt" and buy supplies for the family. (LI Herald)
