  1. In Hicksville, a 81-year-old man was fatally struck by a car on Saturday night. He was trying to walk across Jerusalem Avenue at Parc Lane just after 7 p.m. when a 20-year-old man driving a Honda Civic hit him. (News 12)
  2. Four-term Congresswoman Kathleen Rice announced she will not be run for a fifth two-year term. Rice is a Democrat who represents the 4th Congressional District. (LI Herald)
  3. Nassau County transferred control of Cow Meadow Park to the Village of Freeport. The village plans to spend $2.5 million on upgrading it, with plans for a playground, spray park, dog park, athletic fields, and the improving he beach and marina, closed since Superstorm Sandy.
