Here are the top stories today in Five Towns:

  1. Jerry Barmash reports that a house fire broke out in Lakeview early Wednesday at 3 Ronkonkoma Ave. at 2 a.m. All residents were evacuated with no reported injuries. (Patch)
  2. News 12 explains that Levittown schools are dealing with another COVID-19 outbreak. Lee Road Elementary School saw 16 reported cases last week. Salt Middle School had 43 students and teachers at home with COVID-19 early this month. (News 12)
  3. Census data for Nassau County shows demographic shifts in 2020. Nassau's white, non-Hispanic population decreased by almost 10 percent, and the Asian-American population increased by more than 4 percent. The county's total population increased by more than 56,000 over the last decade. (The Island Now)
  4. Volunteers in the Five Towns are helping their neighbors this Thanksgiving. In Rockaway Beach, Rock and Wrap It Up! will host a sit-down dinner at St. John’s Baptist Church or diners can take a food-filled bag with them. The organization will feed close to 1,000 people. (LI Herald)
