🌱 Firefighter From Long Beach Dies + Woman Robbed In Driveway

Here are the top three stories today in Five Towns:

1. An FDNY firefighter from Long Island died in his Queens firehouse a day after battling a fire.
   Jesse Gerhard, 33, suffered a "medical episode" while on-duty Wednesday, the FDNY said. He was rushed from the Far Rockaway firehouse to St. John's Episcopal Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. (Patch)
2. A Levittown woman was robbed at gunpoint in front of her home on Wednesday night.
   The 52-year-old woman arrived at her home on Ridge Lane at 6:30 p.m. when she was approached by a man who pulled out a handgun and demanded money. (Patch)
3. A $125 million apartment project in Westbury will be high end with a fitness studio and spa, a 75-foot outdoor pool and rent between $2,700 and $8,000 a month. The Selby will have 210 apartments and 27 hotel units overlooking Eisenhower Park. (Subscription: Newsday)

• Nassau County Police Department arrested a 30-year-old male in Freeport for attempting to rape a 13-year-old female. If anyone believes they are also a victim of the man, they should contact police. (Facebook)
• Lorete Ferri, 49, Hempstead, was arrested for three bank robberies in Mineola, Merrick, and Garden City between Feb. 9 and Feb. 14. (Facebook)
• Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department responded to an appliance fire at 9 Waverly Place in Lawrence. No injuries were reported. (Facebook)
