Police arrested a Brooklyn man and charged him with burglary after he tried to steal business paperwork from his former employer in Elmont.
ELMONT, NY — Nassau County police arrested the former employee of an Elmont restaurant and charged him with burglary after he entered the business on Monday and tried to steal documents, they say.
Donald Nelson, of Brooklyn, scuffled with the restaurant's manager, who saw Nelson trying to leave with the papers, police said. Nelson suffered a minor injury during the fight when he slid down a flight of stairs.
Nelson was terminated from the restaurant and did not have permission to be there, the employer told police. He is charged with two burglary counts.
