1. News 12 Long Island reports that an 81-year old woman was seriously injured after getting hit by a van in Hempstead Saturday night. She was crossing at Fulton Avenue when she was hit by a Ford cargo van. (News 12)

Lisa Margaria explains that the Nov. 10 Hewlett-Woodmere Board of Education work meeting was packed with parents worried about rumors of cost-cutting plans like eliminating the 10-period high school day and eliminating elective courses.
