- This week, Gov. Kathy Hochul has pulled the proposed zoning plan to force local municipalities to expand the use of accessory residences such as apartments on single-family properties from her budget. The proposal was opposed by many Nassau legislators. (LI Herald)
- A Hempstead man was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison Friday for murdering his mother, sister and a family friend. Bobby Vanderhall, 39, attacked them with a hammer and knife in August 2017. (News 12)
- Valley Stream North boys basketball team beat Lynbrook 47-46 win in a Nassau Class A first-round matchup, and will advance in the playoffs. (Subscription: Newsday)
