Homeowners Escape Fire At Lawrence House: Arson Bomb Squad

One firefighter was injured, but has since been released from an area hospital, said police.

LAWRENCE, NY — Homeowners on Harrison Street had to flee their home after discovering smoke coming from the crawl space Friday night, according to an Arson Bomb Squad report.

None of the homeowners were injured and the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire, but there was extensive damage to the home that started smoking at 7:25 p.m., according to authorities.

One fireman had a cut to his hand, but was treated by staff at an area hospital before being released, according to police.

The fire is not deemed suspicious at this time and police and the fire departments are investigating the case.

The Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department said it will have more details about the fire Saturday afternoon.
