- A convenience store employee in North Long Beach was arrested for ringing up $35,000 of lottery tickets. Ana Pachuco illegally printed out the lottery tickets in six hours at Liberty Mart on Austin Avenue on Sunday. (News 12)
- Former Hempstead Supervisor Laura Gillen announced she will run for Congress in the 4th District on Thursday. She is vying for the seat Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-Garden City), who is not seeking reelection, will vacate, along with Nassau County Legis. Siela Bynoe (D-Westbury) who has also announced she's in the running. - Debate over Atlantic Beach Village’s decision to obtain two parcels of vacant land through eminent domain that the Chabad of the Beaches in Long Beach, owns continued at a Feb. 14 board meeting. The trustees voted unanimously to approve a resolution that 90 days after the public comment period, which ended on Jan. 24, the findings will become public record. (LI Herald)
