  1. Jeff Bessen explains that Hewlett Harbor installed six cameras and six license plate readers to create what village officials are calling “virtual gated community.” The community has 1,500 residents and a low crime rate. (LI Herald)
  2. A woman from Inwood was charged with assault after attacking a person with a knife at 5:40 p.m. in Inwood on Friday. Police responded to a disturbance on Bayview Avenue where Andrea Autry, 24, also of Bayview Avenue, allegedly assaulted a victim with a knife and fled. (LI Herald)
  3. The Herald recognizes Hewlett High School students Rachel Halpert, Sam Abramovich, David Kushnirsky and Ethan Silver, along with Woodmere Middle School students Ben Abramovich, Shayna Silver and Sophia Abramovich who spent a day serving lunch to staff at St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital in New Hyde Park.
