Nassau House Fire Caused By Lightning Strike: Police

There were no injuries from the Tuesday evening fire, police said.

LAWRENCE, NY — A fire on the rooftop of a Lawrence home was started by a lightning strike, the Long Beach Fire Department said on Facebook.

Officers responded to a home on Juniper Circle North, just after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Flames were seen flames coming from the from roof. All residents of the home were safely out of the home, police said.

The Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department and other neighboring fire departments extinguished the flames.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad also responded to the scene.
