LI Screenwriter's Thriller With John Cusack Opens Friday

VALLEY STREAM, NY—A Valley Stream screenwriter will see his work hit the big screen this Friday, when the Hollywood action thriller "Pursuit" opens in theaters. Ben Fiore cowrote the script for the film, which stars John Cusack and Emile Hirsch.
The movie's plot, according to IMDB, is described as: "Detective Breslin crosses paths with Calloway, a ruthless hacker who's trying to save his kidnapped wife from a drug cartel. When Calloway escapes from police custody, Breslin joins forces with a no-nonsense cop to reclaim his prisoner."
Cusack plays against type as a ruthless crime boss.

Fiore told the LI Herald that he began screenwriting in earnest after retiring as a New York City police officer and working at Ground Zero.

He wrote the script in his Valley Stream house before and after work at Memorial Junior High School and at night and on weekends. He said he draws on his years working in law enforcement where he encountered a diverse mix of people.
"Pursuit" opens in limited theaters and on-demand Friday.
