- Jerry Barmash writes that a Bronx man was arrested after he was pulled over for traffic infractions near Nassau Expressway and Burnside Avenue on Sunday night. Dequan Smith, 24, was found with a loaded firearm and now faces charges of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm. (Patch)
- The Daily Voice reports that a 34-year-old Long Island man was arrested for hitting two people with a metal lock inside of a sock during an altercation Sunday. Tanner-Rey Perez, of Elmont, was arrested after the altercation with a 56-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man on the sidewalk. (Daily Voice)
- The priciest house sold in Hewlett last month was 1714 Huntley Place, for $975,000. (Subscription: Long Island Business News)
- Patch explores the statements from Nassau County Legislator Carrie Solages, representing the Elmont community where the new UBS arena is located, about how the venue affects the local residents.
