- Former Rockville Centre Rabbi Dr. Barry Dov Schwartz has worked with a Nazi hunter along with other historically significant experiences. He writes his life story in “A Man of Spirit: A Rabbi Navigates a Half-Century of Sweeping Change,” released on Jan. 25. (LI Herald)
- A new state proposal would prioritize those convicted of marijuana crimes priority for licenses to sell recreational marijuana later this year. Jessica Naissant owns a CBD store in Valley Stream and was arrested for smoking weed in 2018 and is hoping to get one of those permits. (News 12)
- Nassau County Police Department Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a fatal vehicular accident that occurred on March 9 at 2:52 p.m. in Old Westbury. A male, 17, was operating a 2019 BMW southbound on Glen Cove Road in the vicinity of Hewlett Drive and crossed over the median, striking a NICE Bus, killing the male bus driver, 63.
