  1. Nassau County police have identified a man who was found shot to death in Hempstead on Jan. 30 at Peninsula Boulevard and Sewell Street. Police found 49-year-old Santos Valeriano Argueta, of Hempstead, lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. (Patch)
  2. Valley Stream Central High School District Board of Education has hired Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, a national educational leadership search firm, to help them in the nationwide search for a new superintendent of schools. (LI Herald)
  3. Four Hewlett High School students were named semifinalists in the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium: Elizabeth Balzac and Carrie Zheng in the Social Science category and Benjamin Sherman and Anneliese Baum in the Science Research category. (LI Herald)
