Man Shoplifting At Green Acres Mall Taken Into Custody By ICE: Police
There was an outstanding warrant of removal against Kelvin Betancourt Guerrero, police said.
VALLEY STREAM, NY — A Queens man, arrested for attempting to shoplift items from Walmart at the Green Acres Mall, taken into custody by customs agents, police said.
On Saturday afternoon, Kelvin Betancourt Guerrero, 23, hid merchandise in a bag and attempted to leave the store withour paying, police said.
He was confronted by loss prevention officers and police officers, who placed him under arrest, police said.

Subsequent to the investigation, it was determined that Guerrero was using a 2022 moped with a stolen license plate and a suspended driver license, police said.
Guerrero also has active New York City arrest warrants and an outstanding warrant of removal pending with U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE), police said.

Guerrero is charged with petty larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, police said.
He was released on an appearance ticket and taken into custody by ICE agents.
