Man Shot His Parents Inside LI Home Christmas Morning: Police
Police say he shot his mom in the head and his dad in the back.
HEWLETT HARBOR, NY — A 29-year-old Brooklyn man shot his parents inside their Long Island home Christmas morning, police said.
It happened inside a home on Seawane Drive in Hewlett Harbor around 10:08 a.m., according to Nassau police.
When police arrived, they found a 64-year-old woman had been shot in the head and a 65-year-old man had been shot in the back. Reports have identified the couple as Rocco Tomassetti and Vincenza Tomassetti.

Both of them were conscious and alert and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
An investigation led Nassau detectives to Mahwah, New Jersey where they placed 29-year-old Dino Tomassetti into custody.

Police referred to the shootings as "attempted murder," but the specific charges against Dino Tomassetti have not yet been revealed.
Dino Tomassetti worked as a personal trainer in Queens, according to his Instagram page.
