Man Spits On Officers During Arrest For Stealing Items From Green Acres Macy's: Police
Aragon Burgess faces charges that include robbery and resisting arrest for the Thursday afternoon incident, police said.
VALLEY STREAM, NY — A Freeport man was arrested and charged for a robbery on Thursday afternoon at Macy's in the Green Acres Mall, police said.
Aragon Burgess, 20, exited the department store just after 2:30 p.m. without paying for items, police said.
A loss prevention officer confronted Burgess and he threatened to stab the employee before fleeing the scene, police said.

A short time later, Burgess was observed inside Macy’s women’s department in Green Acres.
He concealed several items in a backpack and exited without paying, authorities said.

While attempting to flee the scene, Burgess pushed a male victim, 63, to the ground causing him to suffer substantial pain. A police officer also suffered injuries while attempting to apprehend Burgess, police said.
He was eventually placed into custody. While in police custody, Burgess became extremely irate, uncooperative and spit on two officers, authorities said.
Burgess is charged with second-degree robbery, third-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree assault, second-degree harassment, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest, police said.
He is was expected to be arraigned on Friday.
