- A man was non-fatally shot after allegedly threatening Nassau police detectives with a knife Saturday afternoon in Copiague. Police were interviewing the 39-year-old man outside his residence on Buchanan Drive for another incident. (News 12)
- A Queens woman was arrested in Valley Stream after trying to trick an 84-year woman into sending her money. The victim was first contacted by a male who claimed to be a Best Buy Geek Squad worker. (News 12)
- A Hofstra report shows almost 52.8 percent of Long Island's public school student body is minority, but full-time minority teachers are only 9.5 percent of the workforce. An upcoming increase in retirements may change these numbers, experts say. (Subscription: Newsday)

- Police are asking the public's help to find a shooter who shot a man in Long Beach on the 400 block of East Broadway. The victim was found in vestibule of 425 E. Broadway around 2:30 a.m. and the shooter is described as a Black male wearing a black hoodie. (News 12)
- The Woodmere Vol. Fire Department was dispatched to a reported car fire on Wood Street on Friday and managed to extinguish the fire. (Facebook)
- A 7,800-square-foot historic mansion in Long Beach is on the market for $6.9 million — a record for a listing in the city. (Subscription: Newsday)
