- A fire at a motel in Westbury displaced more than two dozen people. The fire started in Room 213 of the Pines Motor Lodge, located at 101 Taylor Ave., around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. No one was injured. (Patch)
- Nassau County's new PBA president, Tommy Shevlin, wants more mental health resources for Nassau police. Shevlin is a 16-year-veteran of the department and a Valley Stream native. (Subscription: Newsday)
- The Who will play UBS Arena on their North American 2022 tour. Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend will stop by the Belmont Park venue on Oct. 7. (Patch)
