Nassau Man Arrested For Reckless Driving, Hitting Police Vehicle: PD
Shawn Maraj also faces charges that include assault and criminal mischief, police said.
VALLEY STREAM, NY — A Valley Stream man was arrested on Tuesday night after damaging several vehicles on multiple occasions, police said.
When police arrived, Shawn Maraj, 31, immediately entered his 2018 Honda Civic and deliberately struck an occupied police vehicle several times, police said.
Two officers were injured in the crash. Maraj then drove across a lawn, striking a lawn and bush as he attempted to flee, authorities said.

An investigation led police to locate and place Maraj under arrest without incident, police said.
He is charged with second-degree assault, second-degree attempted assault, second-degree criminal mischief and two counts of second-degree reckless endangerment, police said.

Maraj was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.
