1. Cedarhurst's David Lobl is the Democratic candidate running to replace Melissa “Missy” Miller in the 20th Assembly District against Ari Brown, the current deputy mayor of Cedarhurst. (LI Herald)
2. An 18 year old from the Bronx, Richard Morgridge, was arrested for burglarizing nine businesses in Carle Place and Mineola in one day. (News 12)
3. Four MS-13 gang members were charged this week with the murder of a Far Rockaway mother, whose body was found in the trunk of a car in Inwood last April. Anander Henriquez-Avila, 29; Allan Lopez-Villeda, 23; Jose Sarmiento-Valeriano, 22; and Rigel Yohario Velasquez-Mancia, 21, all of Far Rockaway, are accused of killing Nazareth Claure, 31. • The man who was shot this past weekend in Long Beach has died. Humberto Manuel Francis Hernandez, 37, was shot at the front door of his apartment building on East Broadway. (News 12)
• A 49-year-old man who was critically injured when he was hit by a car Sunday night in Freeport has died. Oscar Saquij-Cruz lived in Freeport. (Subscription: Newsday)
• Long Island Rail Road commuters in Valley Stream worry about peak fares returning. (LI Herald)
