  1. The Hewlett-Woodmere school district voted to not include the Muslim Eid holidays on next year's calendar. More than 1,000 people signed a petition in favor of adding the holidays. (LI Herald)
  2. A woman who lost her dog five years ago in Long Beach was reunited with her lost pet in Tennessee. Jen Costa's English bulldog turned up in a shelter 1,000 miles from home last week. (Patch)
  3. Three men from Pennsylvania were arrested last week after stealing a catalytic converter from the underside of a car in New Hyde Park. The men were arrested during a routine police patrol in Williston Park. (Patch)
