- A school bus crashed into a building in Merrick on Monday afternoon. There were no children on board, but one pedestrian was struck by the bus on Merrick Avenue and was taken to an area hospital. (Patch)
- Rudy Giuliani stopped by Bellmore on Sunday for a political rally held for several Republican candidates. Suffolk County Congressman Lee Zeldin appeared, along with George Santos, running for the 3rd Congressional District. (Patch)
- A 35-year veteran firefighter was remembered at a funeral Monday. Franklin Square and Munson Fire Department Commissioner Joseph Torregrossa died last week from a 9/11-related illness. (News 12)

- Rocky Point Middle School was named a "School to Watch." The honor comes from The National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform, an alliance of educators, researchers, national associations and officers of professional organizations and foundations. (Facebook)
- Rocky Point High School senior Casey Kincaid earned Employee of the Month in the Eastern Long Island Academy of Applied Technology’s Animal Science Program for being a role model among her peers and for her professionalism. (Facebook)
- Miller Place High senior Danielle Cirrito was selected as a News 12 Scholar-Athlete. She has a 100.98 weighted GPA, placed fifth in the NYS Class B Cross Country Championships this past fall and was All-Division in Girls Basketball and runs spring Track. She won a $1,000 scholarship. (Facebook)
