- The New York Post shared screenshots from a video that shows a Valley Stream substitute teacher inadvertently showing sex toys during a classroom lecture. A Valley Stream Central High School District spokesman said that the substitute teacher had been removed from the district’s roster. (New York Post)
- The Inwood Fire District is holding two public referendums to borrow a total of $4.8 million for a 2,900-square-foot expansion of the firehouse and a new 100-foot bucket ladder truck to replace a current 75-foot ladder truck. (LI Herald)
- Michelle Clifford Marin is a detective in the Nassau County Police Department's hostage negotiations and her husband Jim Marin is a street officer. They became the first husband and wife duo to be promoted on the same day at Wednesday's promotions ceremony. (News 12)
