'Suspicious' Fire At Nassau Auto Shop: Police

It took place during the overnight hours on Monday at Avi's Auto Center in Hewlett, police said.

HEWLETT, NY — A fire early Monday at a Hewlett business is believed to be "suspicious," police said.

A tow truck and part of Avi's Auto Center on West Broadway were in flames just before 3 a.m., police said.

The Hewlett Fire Department, Woodmere Fire Department and other neighboring fire departments responded to extinguish the fire.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal and the Arson Bomb Squad also responded.

No injuries were reported, police said.
