Here are the top three stories in Five Towns today:

  1. The Lawrence School District said two swastikas were found etched on a metal plate in a hallway of the elementary school. Superintendent Dr. Ann Pedersen said,“this is a hate crime. Lawrence has zero tolerance for hate.” The incident was reported to the Nassau County police. (LI Herald)
  2. A five-year-old Levittown boy who was born without a left ear has a new ear due to a cutting-edge surgery. Luca Vacchio's surgery was done by Dr. Nicholas Bastidas at Cohen Children's Medical Center, the only surgeon to do this new procedure. (Patch)
  3. Saving Lives Five Towns Drug & Alcohol Coalition and Hatzalah of the Rockaways and Nassau County jointly launched a campaign for Purim called “Purim 2022 – Let’s Unmask Underage Drinking" to curb underage drinking during the holiday. (LI Herald)
