Here are the top three stories in Five Towns today:
- The Lawrence School District said two swastikas were found etched on a metal plate in a hallway of the elementary school. Superintendent Dr. Ann Pedersen said,“this is a hate crime. Lawrence has zero tolerance for hate.” The incident was reported to the Nassau County police. (LI Herald)
- A five-year-old Levittown boy who was born without a left ear has a new ear due to a cutting-edge surgery. Luca Vacchio's surgery was done by Dr. Nicholas Bastidas at Cohen Children's Medical Center, the only surgeon to do this new procedure. (Patch)
- Saving Lives Five Towns Drug & Alcohol Coalition and Hatzalah of the Rockaways and Nassau County jointly launched a campaign for Purim called “Purim 2022 – Let’s Unmask Underage Drinking" to curb underage drinking during the holiday. (LI Herald)
