Town of Hempstead Leaders Are Outraged By Biden's New Press Liaison

CEDARHURST, NY — Town of Hempstead officials, led by Supervisor Don Clavin, are calling out the selection of President Joe Biden's new press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, claiming she has an anti-Israel past.

Jean-Pierre is expected to start on Friday.

Clavin, Councilman Anthony D'Esposito and members of the Town's Jewish community were planning to hold a Thursday news conference to address their concerns.

While serving as national spokesperson and senior advisor to the progressive advocacy group MoveOn, Jean-Pierre regularly helped support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement and the organization’s Anti-Israel agenda, according to a news release by the Town.
