Here are the top three stories today in Five Towns:
- The Valley Stream hit-and-run over the weekend left a 65-year-old man with a severed leg.
The victim was hit on 237th Street near Linden Boulevard on Sunday night. (WPIX 11 New York) - A man was taken into custody in Elmont for punching his girlfriend and causing severe injuries. Garry Henriques, 33, is accused of punching the 23-year-old victim numerous times in the face and back. (Patch)
- A Farmingdale man was arrested on Sunday after police say he attacked his girlfriend and officers. Salvatore Alani, 26, was in a fight with his girlfriend at a home on South Oyster Bay Road in Hicksville at 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 20 and hurt the woman, who called 911. (Patch)
