A house fire in Valley Stream forced the residents to evacuate Monday evening.

VALLEY STREAM, NY — A house fire in Valley Stream forced the residents to evacuate Monday evening.

The blaze broke out around 5:20 p.m. Monday on Lyncrest Street, police said. The residents evacuated and were unharmed.

The Valley Stream Fire Department extinguished the flames, but the damage left the house uninhabitable, police said.

Arson Bomb Squad Detectives and Nassau County Fire Marshals were sent to the home. The Red Cross was notified for the displaced residents.
