Woman Robbed Of Cellphone After Nassau Collision: Police
A man grabbed the woman's cellphone and drove away with it after she said she would make a report following a collision, police say.
VALLEY STREAM, NY — A woman was robbed of her cellphone following a motor vehicle collision in Valley Stream on Thursday, Nassau police said.
The woman, 67, was operating a 2024 Hyundai northbound on Mill Road near the intersection of Sunrise Highway when she was involved in a minor collision with a man driving a black SUV around 2 p.m., police said.
Both drivers exited their vehicles, and the woman informed the man that she would be calling the police to file a report and proceeded to take pictures of the incident, police said. The driver of the black SUV grabbed the woman's cellphone from her hand and pushed her to the ground, causing her to suffer a minor injury, police said.

The man got into his SUV and drove away with the woman's cellphone, traveling north on Mill Road, police said. He then made a right turn onto Sunrise Highway traveling eastbound, police said.
The woman refused medical attention at the scene, police said. Detectives are searching for the man. The man was described by police as black, bald, and in his 40s wearing dark pants and a beige shirt.
