Brooklyn Park Glass is an initiative to greatly reduce the amount of glass in Brooklyn parks. Broken glass is a huge problem in Brooklyn parks making it dangerous for children, wildlife, runners and regular park goers.
Volunteers will be meeting the first two Saturdays of September (Sept. 3 and 10) and the last two Sundays (Sept. 18 and 25) to collect as much of the broken glass as possible. Broken glass will then be sent for recycling at a local facility that provides glass for local companies such as Brooklyn Icestone.
