Beefed-Up Bus Service Planned For Brooklyn Navy Yard
Additional transit options eyed for booming Tech Triangle connecting Fort Greene, DUMBO and Downtown Brooklyn.

State Sen. Daniel Squadron on Thursday announced plans for a new bus route serving the , which includes a booming—yet relatively transit un-friendly—.
"Brooklyn's tech industry is changing the face of New York—and now, we'll have a bus route that will allow the booming Tech Triangle to continue to grow and innovate," Squadron, D-Brooklyn, said in a statement.
While the exact route was still unclear, the bus line will likely include connections to the borough's main transit corridors along Atlantic and Flatbush avenues, according to Squadron's office.

Currently, the area is served by the B57 along Flushing Avenue and the B69 connecting the Navy Yard to the rest of Fort Greene-Clinton Hill along Vanderbilt Avenue—a route that saw weekend service slashed during the last round of budget tightening by the Metropolitan Transit Authority.
As part of several announced service restorations——B69 buses will again run on Saturdays and Sundays starting this weekend.
