Fort Greene: 5 Of The Neighborhood's Best Steaks
Whether it's steak and eggs, steak stir fry or a classic rib eye, here are your go-tos in the neighborhood.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — There's nothing like a classic juicy steak, and getting one locally in Fort Greene or nearby is even better. Here are five of the best steaks to get in Fort Greene-Clinton Hill and in neighboring neighborhoods, via Yelp:
1. Walter's
166 DeKalb Ave.
Yelp review via Ben D.: "Several years in and still going strong. Cool spot serving good cocktails. Menu is to the point and great. Raw bar is a great start and there's an entree for every palate. The grilled bar steak served with fries, arugula, horseradish and chimichurri is a standout amongst great dishes available."

Yelp review via Matthew K.: "Have had two great meals here recently... brunch and dinner. For brunch, I highly recommend the shrimp tacos. For dinner, the sirloin steak was fantastic; one of the best steaks I've had in a while. Really like the ambiance too."

773 Fulton St.
Yelp review via Gavin P.: "Particularly excellent were the skirt steak bao (loaded with juicy tender meat, fresh scallions and a delicious sauce) and the Pheasant two ways (perfectly cooked, full of flavour and well matched with sweet, earthy beets and potatoes). The Cassoulet was a little disapointing, not as unctuous as the French classic, but with a generous helping of pork belly, short rib and lamb merguez to make up for it. With hindsight, I wish we had gone with the Chef's tasting Menu, as at $75 it is a five course bargain, especially as the chef himself told us that it would have included the two specials, one of which was a $65 rib eye for two that night! Guess I will have to go back."
4. Olea
171 Lafayette Ave.
Yelp review via Nikita K.: "The meat choices in this restaurant are the way to go. The sangria marinated steak is something everyone has to try as well as their meatballs. They know how to manipulate the sauces with each meat dish."

5. La Barrita
132 Montague St., Brooklyn Heights
Yelp review via Katie B.: "The parrillada comes with a variety of different cuts of steak, a blood sausage, and a chorizo link. All of the steak was tender and delicious, and smothered in their fabulous chimichurri."
