Man Dies After Nassau Crash: Police

FREEPORT, NY — A man died following a car crash Wednesday night in Freeport, police said.

According to Nassau County police, the crash took place just after 11 p.m. on Atlantic Avenue, when the 23-year-old driver of a 2022 Honda collided with a 2015 Honda, driven by a 55-year-old man, police said.

Both drivers were transported to area hospitals; the 55-year-old man suffered severe trauma and died a short time later, police said.

An investigation is ongoing.
