76-Year-Old Dies From Hit-And-Run Injuries: Police
The man was struck while crossing the street, police say.
FREEPORT, NY. — A 76-year-old man died Wednesday after succumbing to injuries sustained in a Nov. 8 crash in Freeport, police say.
West Babylon resident Octavio Dejesus Espinal Sime was crossing North Grove Street at the intersection with Brooklyn Avenue just before 2 p.m. of Nov. 8, when he was struck by a light colored sedan, Nassau County police said.
The driver fled the scene and Espinal Sime was hospitalized, police said. The driver is still at large and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
