Community Leaders Rally Behind State Senate Candidate Siela Bynoe

Former Nassau County Executive Laura Curran Endorses Siela for Senate Current and Former Elected Officials and Community Leaders Unite

BALDWIN, NY (December 11, 2023) — State Senate Candidate Siela Bynoe proudly announces a wave of endorsements from community leaders, school board members, and current and former elected officials. Bynoe, a five-term County Legislator and former school board member, was joined by former Nassau County Executive Laura Curran, Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé, Baldwin school board member Sue Cools, and community members Erika Hill and Marguerite Keller in unveiling their collective endorsement for her campaign for State Senate District 6.

“I am happy to endorse Siela for Senate,” said former Nassau County Executive Laura Curran. “I have worked alongside Siela for a decade, and know first-hand her passion, commitment, and hard work for the communities she represents. Siela and I share similar goals: ensuring public safety, enacting practical policies that improve quality of life, and making sure all our residents are protected and respected. I look forward to Siela representing my town of Baldwin — and all the wonderful neighborhoods that make up the 6th Senate District.”

“I'm deeply grateful for the support of these incredible women,” added Bynoe. “Our campaign launched less than a week ago, and I’ve been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from people all over the district. As we stand here in Baldwin, I want residents to know that I will do everything I can to support and advocate for their needs in Albany. We are facing serious issues, and we need serious solutions.”

Legislator Debra Mulé remarked, “As someone who advocates for Baldwin and Freeport in the legislature every day, I am proud to support my friend and colleague Siela Bynoe in her race for state senate. When Baldwin needed support for emergency funding for Grand Avenue, Siela was there right next to me demanding immediate action. There’s no doubt in my mind that she will bring that same urgency and conviction when she’s our next State Senator.”

“We need someone in Albany who knows first-hand the issues facing our students and teachers,” added Sue Cools. “Siela’s experience as a former school board member gives her a unique perspective and deep understanding of what needs to be done in Albany to support our public schools.”

“I can’t think of anyone better to represent Baldwin in the State Senate,” concluded Baldwin resident Marguerite Keller. “I, along with everyone else, will be knocking on doors and telling my neighbors to vote for Siela.”
