Fire Breaks Out At Baldwin Home Over Holiday Weekend: Police

It started just before 6 p.m. Saturday, and all the people inside escaped to safety, Nassau police said.

BALDWIN, NY — A fire broke out at a Baldwin home Saturday, drawing area firefighters, Nassau police said.

Officers responded to a home on Grace Street where the homeowner saw a heavy smoke condition in a second-floor bedroom, just before 6 p.m., and all the people left for safety, police said, adding that the Baldwin Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.

The county fire marshal's office and police Arson Bomb Squad detectives also responded to the scene.
