Long Islander Selected In 1st Round Of NBA Draft
Freeport's Ryan Dunn was chosen by the Phoenix Suns.
FREEPORT, NY — A Long Islander was selected in the Thursday night's NBA Draft.
Ryan Dunn, of Freeport, was chosen by the Phoenix Suns with the 28th pick in the first round.
Dunn, a forward, was a sophomore at the University of Virginia where he was on the All-ACC Honorable Mention list and the ACC All-Defensive Team in 2023-2024.

"Congratulations to Ryan Dunn as he has officially been selected with the 28th overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft by the Phoenix Suns," Freeport Mayor Robert Kennedy said. "Wishing you the best of luck from all of the residents in the Village of Freeport."
