As disclosed in the bail hearing, Kowlessar has a side job as a licensed psychotherapist. According to his description on Psychology Today's website, Kowlessar is a "Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State with over 10 years of working experience."
According to the complaint, on or about Feb. 27, Kowlessar landed at Kennedy Airport from Guyana. A border search was conducted and officers identified child sexual abuse on his cell phone, the U.S. Attorney's office said. A Department of Homeland Security agent said at least Kowlessar's cellphone contained at least three videos of child sexual abuse, the complaint alleged.
