Woman Fatally Struck By Car In Nassau: Police

It happened just after 5 p.m. Tuesday in Freeport.

FREEPORT, NY — A 73-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle and killed in Freeport on Tuesday evening, police said.

The victim, who was crossing North Main Street near Stevens Street just after 5 p.m., was hit by a 2014 Lincoln driven by an 89-year-old man, police said.

She was taken to a nearby hospital where she died a short time later, police said.

The driver was brought to a hospital with minor injuries, police said.
