Woman, Struck By 2 Drivers In Nassau, Died: Police

FREEPORT, NY — A woman was killed while crossing a Freeport street on Saturday evening, police said.

The 77-year-old female was on Merrick Road near South Main Street just before 8:30 p.m. when a 2018 Honda Accord struck her. The driver remained at the scene, police said.

Shortly after, a 2020 Dodge Durango also hit the woman. That driver also stayed at the location, authorities said.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with severe injuries and pronounced dead by hospital staff.

Police are investigating.
