1 Killed, 2 Injured In Evening Crash On Meadowbrook Parkway

A speeding Porsche hit two cars and then overturned in Hempstead, state police said.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — A Hempstead man died Tuesday evening and two others were injured in a three-car collision on the Meadowbrook Parkway, New York State police said.

Troopers were called to a crash at 8 p.m. near exit M5 to the Hempstead Turnpike. The New York state Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Collision Reconstruction Unit also responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.

According to the preliminary findings, a Porsche operated by Michael Brown Jr., 36, was traveling north at a high rate of speed. He struck a Toyota and a Nissan and then overturned in the wood line of the right-hand shoulder, state police said.

He was killed. The operator and passenger of the Toyota were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The crash is still under investigation and state police ask any witnesses or anyone with information to call (631) 756-3300.
