2 Killed In Separate Car Crashes In Hempstead This Weekend
It was a deadly weekend on Hempstead roads.
HEMPSTEAD, NY — Two people were killed in two separate car crashes in Hempstead this weekend.
The first occurred at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. Police say a 30-year-old man was crossing Front Street when he was hit by a 2004 Chevy Impala. The man, who police have not yet identified, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 56-year-old man, remained at the scene, and police impounded his car for a brake and safety check.

The second incident happened at 7:38 p.m. Sunday. A 45-year-old man was driving a 2013 Honda motorcycle east on Peninsula Boulevard when he was struck by a 72-year-old woman driving a 2014 Honda Accord as she tried to turn left onto Grove Street.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police performed a brake and safety check of the car at the scene.
