Baldwin Man Dies After Falling Into Trash Compactor: Police
He worked for a linen supply company, police say.
GARDEN CITY, NY — A Baldwin man was pronounced dead after falling into a trash compactor on Thursday at 10:14 p.m., police said.
According to Nassau County police, officers responded to Arrow Linen Supply Inc., located on South Street, after a male employee fell into the compactor.
He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced by a hospital physician, police said. The 42-year-old was identified as Michael Rutledge, police said.

The homicide squad continues to investigate the incident in conjunction with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, police said.
