The Bristal Assisted Living Partners with YAI and Ability Beyond to Launch Inclusion Workforce Program

A strategic collaboration setting a new benchmark for inclusive hiring in senior living.

The Bristal Assisted Living is proud to announce a collaboration with two prominent organizations dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities: YAI and Ability Beyond. The partnership marks the launch of a workforce inclusion program within The Bristal Assisted Living’s communities designed to create meaningful roles for adults with developmental challenges.

The pilot program began at The Bristal Assisted Living at Garden City, welcoming participants from YAI’s community pre-vocational program. It has since expanded to include participants from Ability Beyond at The Bristal Assisted Living at Armonk. Those enrolled range in age from 18 to 50 and include individuals who are living with developmental and intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, brain injury, and more.

These new team members have engaged in hands-on support roles across housekeeping, dining services, and programming departments.

“This partnership with The Bristal Assisted Living is a testament to what’s possible when organizations come together with a shared commitment to dignity, inclusion, and opportunity,” said Kevin Carey, YAI Chief Executive Officer. “By opening doors to meaningful work, we’re empowering people with disabilities and building stronger, more connected communities."
