Man Hit By 2 Cars, Killed In Nassau

Police say he was crossing a street when he was hit by the first car, which knocked him in front of the second.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — A man was killed early Tuesday morning after police say he was hit by two cars while trying to cross a street in Hempstead.

According to Nassau County police, the 35-year-old man was crossing Peninsula Boulevard, near the intersection of President Street, at 4:35 a.m. when he was hit by a 2003 Honda Civic being driven by a 47-year-old man.

The man was knocked into the other lane of traffic, where he was then hit by a 2018 Dodge van driven by a 54-year-old man.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic. Police have not yet released his name.

Police say the drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
