Motorcyclist Killed In Crash In Nassau

Police say he struck the back of a turning car and was thrown from his motorcycle.

GARDEN CITY, NY — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a car Saturday afternoon in Garden City.

According to police, at 3 p.m., 26-year-old man was driving a 2009 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle east on Stewart Avenue, at the intersection of Tanners Pond Road. Police say he struck the rear of a 2015 Hyundai Sonata which was turning south onto Edgemere Road.

The motorcyclist was thrown from his vehicle and suffered severe trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:02 p.m. The driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene, and was not injured.

Police have not yet released the name of the motorcyclist. The investigation is ongoing.
