Officer In Chase Crashes Into Car, Injures 2: Police
Police say the officer was chasing a suspect when they crashed into another car, injuring the two occupants as well as themselves.
HEMPSTEAD, NY — A police officer in a car chase collided with another car in Hempstead on Saturday, injuring himself and two others.
A Hempstead police officer was pursuing a car heading west on Wellesley Street, near James LL Burrell Avenue, when police say he struck a Honda Pilot heading north on James LL Burrell Avenue.
The crash caused the two occupants of the Honda — a 56-year-old woman driving and her passenger, a 54-year-old woman — to be thrown from the car. The police officer's car overturned.

All three were taken to a hospital for treatment. The police officer was released with minor injuries.
