Third-Place Powerball Ticket Sold In Hempstead

The $50,000 ticket is one of five that were sold in New York for the most recent drawing.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — A winning Powerball ticket was sold in Hempstead, but it wasn't for the grand prize.

The ticket was one of five third-place tickets that were sold in New York for the Jan. 18 Powerball drawing. The ticket, which was purchased at Stop and Shop on Fulton Avenue, is worth $50,000.

Winning tickets were also sold in Hewlett and Kings Park.

The winning numbers for the Powerball drawing held on Jan. 18 are: 6-15-22-42-47 and the Powerball is 26. Players can check their tickets on the New York Lottery app. The winning numbers for the Powerball game are drawn from a field of one to 69. The Powerball number is drawn from a separate field one to of 26.

The Powerball drawing is held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 11 p.m. Because there was no winner, the jackpot for Saturday's drawing is now $473 million.
